The Westport Friends of Music perform chamber concerts in the autumn and winter, while the Green Farms Center for the Arts offers theater, music and art exhibits throughout the year. The Westport Arts Center is a community arts center that presents concerts in folk, jazz and chamber music; theater; children's programs; and changing art exhibitions.

Westport's education benefits from the generous support and involvement of its residents. The public schools emphasize a strong academic curriculum, including both college preparatory and vocational pathways, along with a broad range of enrichment programs.

The historic Wheeler House was remodeled in the Italianate-style in the 19th century featuring three Victorian period rooms, a gift shop, and the only octagonal-roof, cobblestone barn. The renovated Bradley Wheeler Cobblestone Barn houses the Museum of Westport History, which includes a diorama of the town as it looked toward the end of the 19th century.

Earthplace is a perfect fun spot to learn about nature, with hiking trails, a swamp trail with two bald eagles. The stuffed mounts of birds and mammals are awesome an awesome collection. They have a small theater showing a movie about bugs and other subjects. A perfect day trip with the kids.

Westport's splendid natural setting inspires a wealth of recreational activity and outdoor enjoyment. The pristine beaches of Long Island Sound have many exciting water sports which residents take advantage of. Boating enthusiasts appreciate the private yachting clubs and fine marinas. Long Shore Country Club, town owned, and numerous private country and hunt clubs offer tennis, golf, swimming and social events for all ages. An active recreation commission oversees facilities and activities on more than 200 acres of preserved land. Sherwood Island State Park features supplementary shoreline fun and extraordinary trails for hiking and nature study. Consisting of more than 235 acres in the Greens Farms section of Westport, visitors of Sherwood Island State Park can enjoy the observation platform at Sherwood Island, a nature center, fishing, swimming, picnicking and more.

The town has two Metro North Railroad stations for commuters. Major highways such as, Interstate 95, the Merritt Parkway and Boston Post Road cut through the town.
