Southbury is a pleasant town offering families, singles and seniors opportunities to enjoy a vigorous lifestyle in a quiet, stunning and carefully planned community along Interstate 84.

Located in the western region of New Haven County, Southbury covers about 40 square miles. Reminding visitors and residents of Southbury's prosperous past are historic villages, museums, homes and memorials, also including its important place as an encampment site for heroes from the Revolutionary War, as well as a shady summer getaway for noteworthy literary figures.

Previously a Pomperaug Indian Trail, historic Main Street North, showcases the impeccable architecture of the town's first homes. One of the oldest school buildings in the country is Bullet High School, which operated from 1689 to 1942. Russian Village is a collection of small charming homes that were originally settled by immigrants feeling the Russian Revolution, which was designed by the son of Leo Tolstoy.

The elementary school located in Middlebury, Long Meadow Elementary School provides academic programs for students in both towns.
