CSS/CON stands for The Coalition to Strengthen the Sheldon/Charter Oak Neighborhood. It is an community group whose mission is to promote a high quality of life through community participation to ensure that all residents treat one another with mutual respect.
CSS/CON’s commitment to the Dutch Point project is to ensure clear communication, education, and advocacy for the resident affected by the Dutch Point Colony Revitalization Project and redevelopment process. Their intention is also to provide leadership training opportunities to individuals and families, establishing connections with Dutch Point residents with local activities and events. It is also their intention to provide workforce development programming and youth activities and maintain a partnership with community through it’s Board of Directors, which is comprised of neighbors, community stakeholders, local business owners and the Hartford Police Department.
CSS/CON’s mission is to improve the quality of life for all who live, work, worship and to recreate the neighborhood and has been involved in the Dutch Point Revitalization project since its inception. For The Townhomes at Dutch Point, the development branch of CSS/CON met with The Community Builders, Hartford Housing Authority, and the architect to come up with the initial designs.
