101 MAIN STONINGTON
Unique Concept, Unique Location
By Kristen Wich
Bordering the village square in Stonington’s most prestigious historic district is 101 Main, a unique concept designed to incorporate the traditional elements of an Historic New England fishing village with the finest in modern amenities and the convenience of a pedestrian community.
The site of the former Stonington Lumber Company, owned and operated by the Perry family for 73 years, 101 Main was conceptualized by Jim Goldenberg of Cathartes Private Investments of Boston.
Goldenberg, a regular visitor to the Borough of Stonington, caught a glimpse of the property after the lumber company had closed its doors and visualized something great there. He constructed a team of well-known local experts, including Realtors Michael Blair and Saddia Rahaman of Prudential Connecticut Realty, architects Mark Comeau and Greg Nucci, nationally recognized landscape designer Peter Cummin, and interior designer Patrick Gallagher.Together they developed 101 Main.
The 18- unit Condominiums, housed in two graciously appointed structures showcasing architectural elements of a by-gone era, will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom interiors designed with lifestyle in mind.
The lock- and go concept will allow residents to come and go daily, weekly, monthly or annually with no worries. And while in town they can walk to everything they need- a plentitude of unique shops, award-winning restaurants, the local farmers’ market, docks unloading the fresh catch-of-the-day, marinas beaches, a lighthouse and more. Likewise, residents can find solace in their own space in relaxed, quiet apartments from 1200 to over 1600 square feet, featuring standards like warm gas fireplaces, gourmet kitchens with classic finishes and custom countertops, luxury baths with gorgeous tile work and fixtures, rich hardwood flooring and designer lighting.
Professionally designed upgrade packages offering honed finishes, beveled edging and Sub Zero and Wolf appliances in the kitchen provide the optimum in luxury living. Deep-set windows overlook park-like grounds and a courtyard, as do private outdoor living spaces accompanied by each unit. Ground –level residents will enjoy gorgeous patios, second-floor dwellers will have covered porches and third-story occupants can revel on corner, roof-top decks.
Whether indoors or out, living at 101 Main is certainly a way of life. It delivers convenience, activity and a sense of community, and embraces both casual and elegant in the same breath, serving up the most complimentary accompaniment to a village grounded by historical roots and ever-lasting grace.
Do not miss your chance to get in on the ground floor of this superb development. Reservations are now available and units are priced from just under $600k to just under $800k.
