Woodstock is in the northeastern Connecticut on the Massachusetts border. Though Woodstock is a rural area, its location is convenient to many cities and areas of interest.

Woodstock is a wonderful place to live and work. It is Connecticut’s second largest community by area (61.8 square miles) and has a small but growing population.

With its fine schools, Woodstock is a great place to raise a family. Strong educational leadership and high expectations characterize Woodstock''s schools. Woodstock Academy, founded in 1801, is a non-selective, independent secondary school serving as a public high school for children from Woodstock, Eastford, Union, Pomfret, Canterbury and Brooklyn. A 35-member Board of Trustees governs the academy, which has a variety of extra-curricular activities and interest groups.

Woodstock takes pride in its effort to maintain the community’s rural character. One of Woodstock''s greatest attractions is the annual Woodstock Fair every Labor Day weekend. It is the second oldest fair in New England, and it offers fun for all ages.
