Peter was born and raised in Darien, attending local schools for his elementary years. After graduating Choate School, Williams College and Johns Hopkins University, Peter and his wife settled in New Canaan where they have lived for the past twenty years. Their three sons attended local public schools. Peter's parents moved to Riverside twelve years ago, allowing him to gain an intimate knowledge of this community as well.
Peter is an avid sailer and competes on Long Island Sound twice weekly, usually sailing in J-24's. The yacht clubs of Fairfield County are well known to him, as are most of the beach clubs along the Sound. Fishing for blues and stripers is another interest that takes him to diverse locations along the water.
Active in the Presbyterian Church, Peter also devotes significant time to the Old Faithful Antique Fire Engine Company as well as the Getabout. In years past, he was Treasurer of the Cub Scouts and active in both Indian Guides and Boy Scouts.
