Last years tax credits have certainly stimulated the market . While many of the sales have been affordable to moderately priced housing, the positive effect of the stimulous package has been undeniable. Despite the recession, housing demand is managing to stabilize. There is now activity in the higher price ranges. The three-year drop-off in demand has clearly bottomed out. It is doubtful that it will surge upward immediately, and, far more likely that it will, like a bathtub, continue at the same level while the country comes to grips with the 'new real estate normal". Given low mortgage rates and more and more encouraging media reports, homebuyers are being lured back into the market Firmer home prices will be the last stage of the recovery.
What does the future hold? If only I knew. There has never been a better long term investment than real estate. The current mortgage rates including the jumbo rates are very attractive, but the concensus is that they are on the back way up. There is certainly a growing sense that now is the time to buy.
I am proud to be in the top 3% of all Prudential agents nationwide. Two earlier entrepreneurial careers – one, corporate rentals in Mexico City, and the second: ownership of two resort clothing shops in Boca Raton and Delray Beach, FL laid the ground work for a good work ethic and an understanding for fluctuating markets and economies.
