Golf Tournament Raises $17,000 for Sunshine Kids

Dedicated to brightening the lives of kids with cancer

Avon, Connecticut - Prudential Connecticut Realty's 1st Annual Golf Tournament, to benefit The Sunshine Kids organization, raised $17,000. This year, Prudential Connecticut Realty hopes to raise $225,000 to help brighten the lives of kids undergoing cancer treatments.

"We are passionate about raising money for the Sunshine Kids," said Peter G. Helie, Prudential Connecticut Realty Chairman/CEO. "I have met many of these brave children who are battling this awful disease and I only hope that the funds we raise will brighten their lives and let them be kids for a while."

The golf tournament was held at Tower Ridge Country Club in Avon, Connecticut and was attended by over 110 golfers, as well as the 2004 Sunshine Spokeskid, Kyle Cooke. Sponsors of the tournament included Curtis 1000, BankAmerica, Office Works, Heating Oil Partners, Sugar Mountain Enterprises, HMS National, Town Fair Tire, Lowen Sign Company, Sign Stop, Traver Electric and Co./Industrial Drives & Controls, Inc. The event was co-hosted by G.W. Bailey, star of the 80s hit series M.A.S.H., Police Academy and currently starring in the new hit series, The Closer and by Blazing Saddles' star, Bubba Gilliam.
