September 30, 2003 - Jack Mitchell, a Connecticut native and CEO of Mitchell and Richards, two of the most successful clothing stores in the industry, is also the author of the popular Hug Your Customers book. Mitchell recently made a special appearance at the Corporate Offices of Prudential Connecticut Realty, Connecticut's #1 real estate company. During his visit, Mitchell spoke to the Prudential Connecticut Realty Leadership Team about his philosophical secrets to developing long-lasting business relationships and creating customer loyalty.

In Mitchell's novel, he discusses his unique business philosophy that is based on "hugging." He defines "hugs" as personal touches that impress and satisfy the customer. Hugs include, remembering the name of the customer's dog, calling a customer to make sure they are satisfied after a purchase, introducing your customer to business contacts and remembering a customer's golf handicap.
